Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished public servant and businessman, is the vice-president. Cheney was a well-known name on Washington's political stage. George W. Bush will be the 4th U.S. President. Bush appointed Cheney as his vice-presidential candidate in 2000, due to the shrewdness and wisdom of Cheney. Dick Cheney served as the chief of staff for the president. He also served as a member of Congress and served as the secretary of defense. Cheney is a man with integrity who is respected by Republicans and Democrats. Cheney stated that his role in the Bush administration is that of a transparent but disinterested adviser. Cheney declared his delight at taking the Republican vice-presidential nod. Cheney said the future is bright for him working with a leader who can collaborate with those who have differing political opinions and who share shared goals. Richard Bruce Cheney born Jan 30th, 1941 in Lincoln Nebraska, the son Richard Herbert Cheney the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. When he was 13 years old, Richard moved his family across Nebraska, eventually moving to Casper which was where his dad worked as head of Casper's U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservancy district.
