Julie Chen Moonves is the host of Big Brother's 22nd season, premiering on CBS 5 August 2018. Chen Moonves served as moderator, and was one of the early hosts of The Talk. After the attacks of 9/11, she was sent to Cairo and located the main hijacker's father for an intense and eye-opening exclusive interview. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. In addition, she met with the former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news show, profiling celebrities including Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves was anchor and reporter for WCBS-TV, the CBS-owned station that was based in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves was a reporter for WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). Prior to that, she worked as a reporter with ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliated news service (1992-1995) and as a desk-assistant in ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991) as well as she was finishing her final year in college from the University of Southern California. She began her career as an assistant for ABC News, working on the late-night program Nightline together with Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is still one of Moonves' journalism idols. Chen Moonves and Ted Koppel worked together on Anatomy of a Riot - a primetime television special that won the Columbia du-Pont award - which looked at what happened during the Los Angeles riots of 1992.
